Windows App Keyboard Shortcuts: Wordstar circa 2008
If you are still mousing around windows navigation menus for your edit-copy, edit-paste, and select all, you are missing a major weapon in your efficiency battle with your Windows PC: keyboard shortcuts. For copying to the Windows clipboard, we have Control-C For pasting the clipboard contents to another window/app, it's Control-V To cut out, it's Control-X To select the whole window, it's Control-A Q. Why are these characters all grouped tightly around the left Ctrl key? A. So they can be reached by the fingers of a single hand. Efficient. FAST! Q. What old windows application were these combinations borrowed from? A. Wordstar. Long gone, but hardly forgotten, it dominates keystroke sequences the world over. Good old Wordstar! |
