Why should YOU start your own small business? Consider the following reasons: 1. The vast majority of all wealth is created by owning your own business 2. Business owners enjoy far more flexibility in their schedule and lifestyle than their employed counterparts 3. The Internal Revenue Code is highly biased in favor of businesses. If you are an employee, you are pretty much ignored. The benefits, as far as tax planning and deductions go, can be enormous. 4. Don't overlook liability issues. You have fewer options for asset protection as a private individual than when you are at the center of a corporate infrastructure. 5. Retirement planning. Again, way more options for businesses than private citizens. 6. Portability. It's often easier (depending, of course, on the type of business) to move a business to another location, than to find a new job there. New locations might not have any employers doing what you do best. Owning a business gives your location-independence (at least many do)
