Recommendations For Aspiring Online Marketers
Heading into my second decade of marketing online, I hope to share a few gems with would-be online marketers so that they might dodge a pothole or two along their journey. 1. Put the credit card away! Unless you have a rich uncle (or a sugar-spouse) financing your agenda, cut up your credit card. Just that one move will save you a bundle. 2. Go to school. What? School? Yep. You didn't think you were going to get rich online without an education, did you? This ain't no ivy league school. Start with forums. Here are three big ones that will get you going: The Warrior Forum Conquer Your Niche Michael Greene's How-To Forum 3. Start collecting. You're going to need a library, if you want to learn this stuff. Build one. No, you don't need gazillions of dollars, either. This information is cheap, even free - especially around Christmas giveaway time - and there are many many ways to acquire it in exchange for work, interning, or from small purchases made from INITIAL PROFITS online. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise: you want to be profitable sooner rather than later. It's much more fun that way. 4. Shop for a mentor. It's a daunting task. The best ones are likely way beyond your budget, if you even have one. That's ok. You can learn from a mentor just by signing up on their ezine or mailing list. You'll get free stuff as well. Mess up this one step, and be prepared for a long,cold road ahead. 5. Start making friends in the biz. Even when your green, and clueless, friends can help. You whine, share horrors stories, swap ideas, do things together. These are your mates, your future joint venture partners, your brotherhood. Nurture them as if your life depended on them. You'd be right. It does. |
