Internet Marketing On The Cheap With SEO Articles

There are literally hundreds, or even perhaps thousands of ways to market your products or services on the Internet. Some of them are costly. Some can even break your budget. Others, while requiring a bit of patience and effort, can be quite cost-effective.

SEO or Search Engine Optimization articles are one example of low-cost or even no-cost Internet Marketing. Putting SEO articles to work for your web site is one of the most effective methods of attracting visitors to your site. You must, however, pay particular attention to the rules if you plan to use SEO articles in your marketing efforts.

An SEO article is a Search Engine Optimized article. This is a special breed of article that is written in such as fashion as to call attention (from the search engine spiders) to a certain keyword or keyword phrase. For example, if your article is all about tracking as it relates to your marketing campaigns, you definitely would try to avoid using the word all by itself. Otherwise, you run the risk of your article being picked up as if it were about animal tracking or satellite tracking. Build in context sensitivity by placing a "qualifier" word next to it - for example, "ad tracking" or "marketing tracking" or "campaign tracking".

While it is important to use the keyword or phrase several times in the article, it is equally important to avoid "loading" or "stuffing" your article with the keyword. By that, I mean adding the word or phrase an unnatural number of times in the article. Of course, it partly depends on how long the article is, but generally two or three instances of the keyword or phrase is adequate for SEO purposes.

Think about how the article appears to the consumer. Is it readable? Does it convey the information in a smooth and forthright manner? Imbedding your keywords in an article seamlessly, and as if they belong, is an art form. It takes a little practice, but the payoff is huge.

If you aren't skilled at writing, and particularly if you are a non-native English speaker, you may want to consider outsourcing your articles. This can be a tricky business, as the most adept article writers charge a lot more than everyone else. There is also a difference between someone capable of writing a great article and someone who knows how to write a Search Engine Optimized article.

Rarely are SEO article writing skills taught in school, so it becomes a challenge to identify a good SEO article writer. The article content needs to be fresh, original and hold the reader's attention throughout. This is similar to the demands of writing good sales copy. Writing effective copy is one of the most difficult skills to master in all of Internet Marketing. Once you find someone with good English composition skills, at least a rudimentary understanding of SEO techniques, and a bit of copywriting prowess, you are most of the way home.

SEO articles should be long enough to convey the information in a professional manner, yet short enough to avoid taxing the reader's attention span. If the reader quits before reaching the end, it defeats at least part of the purpose of developing the article in the first place: coaxing the consumer of the article to click in the author's resource box.

Feeding the Internet a steady diet of fresh, relevant articles that have been developed with SEO tactics in mind is a powerful and cost-conscious strategy. While the results of this method won't be seen overnight, you can think of each article, if properly written and optimized, as being a small warrior for your cause, travelling from article directory to article directory, from web site to web site and from ezine to ezine, doing your web site's bidding.

Treat them with respect in the development process and they will serve you well for a long time.
