Gardening Containers Are Perfect For Renters
If you are a renter, it doesn't make much sense to create a huge garden or landscaping, only to have to leave it all behind when you move. Enter container gardening. With containers, you can grow flowers, or vegetables, or herbs, or small shrubs, that enhance your life, feed you, improve the livability of the neighborhood, while at the same time, giving you the option to move your creations with you if/when you have to move. I've used half whiskey barrels for decades to grow flowers, or tomatoes, or small bushes, and even trees. Another huge advantage besides their ultimate portability to your new home if you ever move is the ability to move them from sun into shade and back. With a planted flowerbed or terraced garden, you're stuck. Whatever environment you have with that spot or site, you're stuck with. Not so with containers. You can move them throughout the year, bring them indoors in a frost if you need to, or otherwise "follow the weather" to improve your plants growth-cycle and chances of survival. So, when you're considering doing some planting, and especially if you are a renter, seriously consider containers as your method of planting. You'll be glad you did! |
