Are you leaving HALF the Forum marketing equation on the table?
I've often wondered what the precise term should be for the TWO sides of forums: Side 1: you participate. you interact. you post. you PM. You build sig files. Gaining backlinks. Your Rep grows Side 2: you own your own forum. You get viral traffic as participants promote the place for you. conversations become sticky, keyword dense content for the bots to come chew on. You build a rep. You make JV partners
1. is "forum marketing" 2. is "forum deployment" (or some such term) ownership. whatever
And here's the synergy that can exist between the two, presuming you practice BOTH TACTICS: You pop over to the WF (warrior forum) or your favorite niche forum on whatever niche you're in. You find a juicy "HPT" to post in (that's short for High Postcount Thread)...just means a BUNCH of advanced members are in there yakking it up... You post. Get in there EARLY in the thread and guess what? People browing through the entire thread read your post! Imagine that? Ok, so, by now maybe you've actually learned something from your little excursion. What next? The kicker: Cruise on back to your own forum and share the "goodies" with your own members! It's a radical maximization of your time and effort - you can even just cut and paste your own post from the forum! Re-write it a bit, and you've nearly gained a 2fer (as in 2 for the price of 1)... because the bots will see each post as unique, and, with any kind of luck from the SERPGods (You DO pray to them daily, right?) you'll have both "snippets" of information indexed.... |
