7 Reasons To Become An Internet Marketer
I put together 7 reasons to consider Internet Marketing as a career path. 1. It's the economy, stupid Internet Marketing, and it's related brethren, network marketing, are almost totally recession-proof. In fact, I'll go a step further and assert that they perform better in a down economy! Why? When people are stressed, on the brink of foreclosure, and looking to make ends meet, they are far more receptive to entrepreneurial opportunities than when the economy is rosy and jobs are high-paying and plentiful. Conversions go up. People get serious. Established marketers benefit. 2. Taxes Taxes Taxes As a CPA with over 25 years of tax experience, I see almost daily how monumental the divide is between the haves (business owners) and the have-nots (employees). This second group is really the lower class when it comes to tax advantages. If you aren't involved in your own business in some way, shape or form, you should be up nights, pondering how to change that. No need for it to be a full-time operation. Internet Marketing can be done with an extra hour, after church, on Sundays. But get yourself a business. Sooner is better than later! 3. The Commute Gasoline is $4. Gas is $5. Gas is $6? As an Internet Marketer, my commute is quick. And painless. Oh, and VERY green. It lasts about 10 seconds, and I'm in my little nerve center, surrounded by modern information-age electronic whiz-bang technology and tools (ok, much of it is 5 years old - so what!) I love my commute. It's zero stress. One of my golden retrievers curled up lovingly at my feet. My kitchen, BBQ, news access (I'm a CNN junkie) just a few feet away. If I get bored, I just grab my notebook and air card and head for the park, the beach or my 35-footer down at the marina. If the weather is miserable out, I smile a lot! 4. The Freedom Do you want to take the day off? On a Wednesday? How about a whole week? Or even two in some island clime, to unwind a bit. Easy! Your whole business just keeps on trucking while you are gone. If you can't let go, just bring it with you! Need to move to a new city? Or change coasts? Or you see a great deal on a villa in the opposite hemisphere? Go for it! 5. The Personal Development Factor Are you learning and growing? Meeting lots of new people? Who don't live in your 'hood? or even your continent? Do you regularly introduce yourself to new ideas, new tactics and different philosophies of life and business? Try Internet Marketing and you'll gain all that - and never look back. 6. Digital Leverage Brick and Mortar businesses (the dark side) have headaches. LOTS of headaches! Fixed overhead, employees, meeting payroll, insane new government regulations, customers who don't pay on-time or ever, political upheavals, inventory troubles, shipping woes.. Yuck! Digital leverage is all about a 24/7/365 business that operates for the most part on auto-pilot, that spans dozens or even hundreds of web-based assets, that crosses national and international boundaries instantly, and that produces, through virtual assistants and outsourcing, time leverage 7. An Elite Club It's fun trying to explain what you do to someone still stuck in the real world. I usually avoid the question or give up quickly and make do with a "I'm a consultant" or some such. But the Internet Marketing success circle is a tightly-knit group. Climb even part way to the top and you'll meet the movers and shakers that live in every nook and cranny of the globe and become your closest business allies and best friends. |
